and the puffin said 'fweem'

we love our good friends (well, ever since we resolved that pesky blood feud thing) hidari (listen), but, we'll be the first to admit that they are easily distractable. moments after they penned their latest epic rock anthem, we posed this question: does chuck norris need both hands to count to infinity? predictably, they all whipped out their slide rules, as they argued amongst themselves christina and i slipped quietly away with the lyrics to our newest cover: 'monkey in a bucket' (lyrics below the fold)

terry hopper and i will be playing under the stars (and the occasional comet, perhaps even a neutron star) tomorrow (friday) night at the bridgeport, ct discovery museum's planetarium. a live-looped leap-day synth-fest galore will be yours from 7pm - 9pm, stop by and check it out. (it's free!) (map)

Got a monkey in a bucket
A monkey in a bucket
A monkey in a bucket
A monkey in a bucket

Ain't no monkey in a bucket
No monkey in a bucket
No monkey in a bucket
No monkey in a bucket

It's an ape in a bucket
An ape in a bucket
An ape in a bucket
An ape in a bucket

And the puffin says "Fweem!"
The puffin says "Fweem!"
The puffin says "Glorp!"
The puffin says "Fweem!"

Stick a boom in your handkerchief
Boom in your handkerchief
A tomb in your trouser stich
Boom in your handkerchief

return your regret

i reworked the tunage for 'return your regret'.

kinda gomez-y, with some dmb perhaps, and christina dead center, of course.

the title 'ryr' often reminds me of a bloom county strip where milo inquires about his missing sense of innocence at the lost and found counter.

the lair of the memefolk

...seeding the hba wiki misinformation movement

among his many other predictions, nostradamus foresaw both the lair of the memefolk, and their eventual disappearance, wiped from the planet's surface, 2 / 12 / 2008.

justin, johnny, we hardly knew ye....

a badge of hope

somedays, all you've got is a badge of hope.

(lyrics below the fold)

badge of hope
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

i wear a badge of hope
but tend to lose it every now and then
i tend to size you up
just like a kid inside a candy store

easy as apple pie
click clack change socks and change your point of view
you are a day
i was living in the darkest time

yeah, i was calling your name
first you shuffle your feet and then you figure it out
so get your face out of frame get your face out of frame
yeah, i was calling your name

yeah, i was calling your name
yeah, i was calling your name

a forest for the trees
10 different ways to be
a thousand setting suns
some things i should have done
fifty is the new twelve
we look and then we delve
deep down into it all bouncing off walls like basketballs

i got up a little late
to understand my fate
so now i sit and wait
hoping that you can't explain
why i do what i do well
that's right i did say well
i'm perfect can't you tell
so perfectly crazy

yeah, i was calling your name
yeah, i was calling your name

you can change
your point of view
